Blueberries!
With the arrival of summer our blueberries also arrive! And so this small forest fruit becomes an omnipresent ingredient in our kitchen.
Do you know that they are a cure-all for our health? They are good in every sense, in fact:
They help liver health thanks to vitamin C and antioxidants that facilitate the metabolization of fats efficiently and protect it from attack by free radicals.
They are a cure-all for the heart, in fact they help the blood circulation making the heart stronger and preventing cardiovascular diseases. They also lower triglycerides and bad cholesterol.
They strengthen the immune system thanks to their anti-inflammatory properties. It is possible to make suffixes with blueberry leaves to treat colds and sinusitis.
They offer benefits for diabetes thanks to blueberry, a substance that lowers blood glucose levels, and chromium that helps metabolize sugars.
They protect against tumors
They are useful in pregnancy to relieve nausea, vomiting and circulation problems except for other medical indications.
They are excellent for the brain as they act on man’s cognitive function, especially on memory and prevent degenerative diseases.
They give benefits to the cardiovascular system and reduce the risk of heart attack.
Given the generosity of our blueberry plants, we use them in several dishes including:
Blueberry risotto (towards the end of summer we propose it with the addition of porcini which is an excellent pairing!)
Panna cotta with blueberry sauce
Tart with blueberry jam or with custard and blueberries
Blueberry pie
Berry fruit salad (unfortunately strawberries and raspberries are in short supply in our garden this year and we say that more than a colorful fruit salad it is mainly blue!
