Lake Viverone

Lake Viverone is the largest lake in the Biella area as well as the third Piedmontese lake by extension. if for the most part it is in the Biella area.

It is a lake of glacial origin, and in addition to its tourist and fishing attractions it is important because it is an archaeological site of finds from the Bronze Age. An ancient prehistoric underwater settlement has been found. The perimeter of the lake measures about 13 km but they are not entirely passable because the south-western part is swampy and wild.

Along the banks there are bars, restaurants, ice cream parlors and the lake is navigable. It is also an obligatory passage for those who travel the Via Francigena.

Our hotel is about 35 km away (40 minutes by car).
